Children’s dentistry is a form of oral healthcare that is targeted at children from birth to adolescence.

Children have yet to develop their teeth fully, so we place more emphasis on the preventive aspect of child dental care and intercepting oral diseases before they form. Whenever a dental issue should arise,

When there is a dental issue, we can restore your child’s teeth and prevent future problems.

We understand that young children may become apprehensive when they visit the dentist; that’s why our Coach House Dental professionals are fully equipped to help uneasy children and administer dental treatment.

At Coach House Dental we provide dental care for your children, such as:

  • Tooth fillings
  • Extractions (may be required for overcrowded teeth)
  • Root canal treatment (typically due to dental trauma)
  • Preventive measures such as teeth sealants and fluoride therapy
  • Braces
  • Treatment of primary teeth injuries
  • Risk assessment for tooth decay
  • Dental care for special needs children
  • Oral healthcare for babies and infants
  • Parent education
How often should my child visit the dentist?

Children should attend their first appointment within 6 months of their first tooth erupting so they can become familiar with the dental team and the environment. We also provide parent education on how to clean your child’s teeth and gums and how to avoid issues like baby bottle syndrome and thumb-sucking.

We recommend a dental check-up every 6 months to prevent cavities and other dental issues. Some children may need more frequent dental visits due to unusual growth patterns or poor oral hygiene.

When should my child start using toothpaste?

Until age 3, clean your child’s teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush and water. After age 3, supervise brushing and use only a pea-sized amount of fluoridated toothpaste and make sure your child does not swallow the toothpaste.

What are dental fissure sealants?

Sealants are clear coatings applied to the top of the teeth, particularly among child patients. These coatings help prevent plaque and bacteria from developing in the grooves and pits of the chewing surfaces of molars, causing tooth decay, which can result in cavities.
